Adisadel College dismisses 2023 WASSCE student in bullying video

Ahead of the conclusion of an investigation by the Ghana Education Service into the unfortunate incident, Adisadel College has dismissed the WASSCE student captured in a viral tape violently assaulting a junior in a dormitory.
In a social media post sighted by AcademicWeek, the Cape-Coast-based Senior High School said the dismissed final-year student will only write the 2023 WASSCE for School with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Slated to commence from July 31, 2023, the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) says more than 448,000 final-year students from various public and private Senior High Schools will sit for the 2023 edition of the Ghana-only WASSCE
A spokeswoman for WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe in an interview monitored by AcademicWeek, said her outfit has put in place adequate measures to ensure the successful conduct of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
”We have also gone round and inspected the depots, where we will be keeping our confidential materials during the conduct of the examinations,” the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the not-for-profit organization (WAEC) said.
Asked if the Examinations Council has changed the timetable for the 2023 WASSCE, she said ”The WASSCE timetable has been sent to the various schools, and then briefing sessions will be held for supervisors before the exams.”
She has therefore entreated students who will participate in the impending 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School to ignore the fake WASSCE for School timetable on social media platforms.
Just like last year, Ghana this year will not write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School with other member countries of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) including Nigeria.
In a related development, the management of Adisadel College has relieved the housemaster of Quaque House, Mr Ekow Holman from his position after a video of a final-year student assaulting another in the house went viral on social media.
In a letter to Ekow Holman sighted by AcademicWeek, the headmaster of Adisadel, Mr Samuel Koffagudogo said: “I regret to inform you that you have been relieved from your position as Quaque Housemaster with immediate effect.”
The letter titled “Relieve from Position As Housemaster added that “You may be reinstated as a housemaster based on the outcome of the investigation. You did not deliver as expected of you as housemaster as far as this video is concerned.
