EduWatch to hold career guidance session for 2023 BECE students

Education think tank – Africa Education Watch in collaboration with Saba Innovation Hub on August 24, 2023, will hold an online career guidance session for Junior High School (JHS) graduates who sat for the 2023 edition of BECE.
The career guidance session scheduled on Zoom purposely is to educate Basic Education Certificate Examination graduates on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
Speakers for the online career session according to a flyer sighted by AcademicWeek are Mr. Kofi Asare, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch and Prof. Courage K. Saba, an Associate Professor at the University for Development Studies.
Junior High School students who sat for the 33rd edition of BECE administered by the West African Examinations Council can join the Zoom career guidance session with the Meeting ID: 82394073962 and passcode: Q81E9g.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has postponed the date for prospective students who participated in the national examination to commence the selection of their preferred second-cycle school for computer placement.
The postponement comes after the management of the Service said the 2023 Senior High School selection process will begin on August 23, 2023, but an official of GES in an interview with AcademicWeek.com said it will start the last week of August.
Ahead of the selection of schools, the Ministry of Education has said it will release a video to explain the 2023 school selection guidelines to prospective candidates. The video it said will be played on radio and television stations.
