The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) following the commencement of the inter-regional and inter/intra district reposting of teachers for the 2022/2023 academic year has updated the reposting process.
In a communique sighted by AcademicWeek, it said the updated new guidelines or process will supersede the previous communicated inter-regional and inter/intra district reposting process for the 2022/2023 school year.
“Issuance of Assurance letters would end on September 30, 2022. The processing of applications to the Headquarters will also begin in September 2022 and take effect from the beginning of the next 2023 (January),” GES noted.
The Education Service has urged public school teachers seeking reposting to take advantage of the ongoing process and note of the duration of the inter/intra district, regional reposting exercise as there will be no extension thereafter.
New process for 2022 GES inter-district reposting
Step 1: An Applicant seeks Assurance from their Region of choice through their Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
Step 2: After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for Release from his/her current Metro/Municipal/District Education Office.
The Metro/Municipal/District Director writes a covering letter after the applicant has completed an inter-regional transfer form and attached all necessary documents (Eg. Current Payslip, Assurance Letter, Certificates, Bank Clearance)
Step 3: The Metro/Municipal/District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office for onward submission to the Director-General for final approval.
Step 4: After the Director-General’s approval is given, the Regional Director issues a release letter to the applicant to complete the reposting process.
Note: A teacher seeking Inter-Regional reposting can only be released by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.
