The pincodes registration deadline for the 2022/2023 service year has been extended from August 8 to August 22, 2022, to enable more personnel to register and undertake their national service, the National Service Scheme has said.
“The extension of the pincodes registration deadline is to give an opportunity to national service personnel who faced challenges during the registration process to have ample time to complete the registration,” It stated in a release.
The service personnel the Scheme in the statement copied to AcademicWeek said include eligible Ghanaian final year students from all accredited tertiary institutions, defaulters who submitted their applications and private registrants.
“All personnel are hereby requested to take advantage of this extension to access their pincodes with their index number and date of birth on the Ghana Service Scheme’s website https://nss.gov.gh,” management of NSS added.
Eligible final year students the National Service has said are to proceed to any Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) Ltd branch throughout the country to make a payment of GHC41.00 to activate their pincodes before the new deadline.
“Alternatively, personnel can use the option of MTN Mobile Money payment of GHC41.00 to activate their pincodes. Personnel who haven’t as yet completed their enrolment are to do so by the stipulated date of August 22,” NSS noted.
In a related development, the NSS management has invited user agencies from both the public and private sectors to submit a request for 2022/2023 national service personnel to be posted to their organizations to start the service year.
In a release copied to AcademicWeek, the Scheme said it’s mandated by the Act of Parliament to deploy graduates from accredited tertiary institutions to support the development efforts of public and private sector organizations.
“The NSS management encourages private organizations that require services of our national service personnel to augment their human resource needs to take advantage of this window,” it said in the release dated August 3, 2022.
User agencies that have any special needs are advised to contact the NSS Secretariat for discussions on their requests,” the statement signed by the Director, Corporate Affairs for National Service Scheme (NSS), Armstrong Esaah stated.
