NTC to issue temporary teaching certificates to teachers

The management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) says it will soon start registration and issuance of temporary teaching certificates to non-professional private and public school teachers in the pre-tertiary education system.
In a press statement copied to AcademicWeek, the Council said it will sensitize all non-professional teachers in the Greater Accra Region on registration and training that will lead to the issuance of temporary certificates.
The move for the temporary teaching certificates sensitization the management of the Teaching Council says follows its decision to phase out teachers without temporary certification as they will have no legal authorization to teach.
“NTC intends to begin the registration and issuance of a temporary certificate to such teachers in the pre-tertiary education system (public and private), as without the temporary certification they will have no legal authorization to teach
In view of this, the Council is embarking on sensitization for all non-professional teachers in the Greater Accra Region on registration and training that will lead to the issuance of the temporary certificates,” the NTC said in the release.
