WAEC organizes sensitization for 2022 BECE candidates

The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) has organized a one-day sensitization for 2022 BECE candidates preparing to sit for their final examination later in October this year.
As part of the Council’s effort to ensure smooth conduct of the 32nd edition of the national examination, candidates were sensitized on the procedure for writing a successful BECE-related examination malpractices and their implications.
Prospective candidates on Monday, October 17, 2022, will sit for Social Studies and end the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School with Information & Communication Technology (ICT) on Friday, October 21, 2022.
Ahead of the administration of the 32nd edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination, the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) began the registration process from Tuesday, May 3, 2022, to Friday, June 10, 2022.
In a statement copied to AcademicWeek, WAEC said only third-year students in various public and private Junior High Schools (JHSs) across the country will be considered for the 2022 BECE for School registration.
Explaining the 2022 BECE School registration process, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said May 3 to June 10, 2022, will be used for capturing eligible final year students’ information, subject selection and pictures.
Downloading of CASS software, capturing of candidates’ scores and subsequent uploading of data online the management of the not-for-profit-making organization said will start from June 27, 2022, to August 12, 2022.
According to the Council, the downloading of school choices software, selection of schools and subsequent uploading of data online will also begin on July 4, 2022, and end on September 2, 2022, for all schools across the country.
“Please note that it is extremely important that the correct subjects are selected during the registration exercise. Finalise your registration data only after all corrections have been affected,” WAEC said in the release to school heads.
