WAEC submits students standardised test results to MoE

The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has submitted the provisional basic four students standardised test results to the Ministry of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education has said.
Speaking on Sompa FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ show monitored by AcademicWeek, the Education Minister said his outfit at the appropriate time will release the 2021 national standardised test results to students and the general public.
“The West African Examinations Council has submitted the standardised test results to the Education Ministry. We at the appropriate time will release the provisional results online,” Adutwum told the host of Sompa’s morning show.
The Minister in charge of Education commenting on the next conduct of the test said primary two students in various government basic schools across the country this academic year will sit for the numeracy and literacy examination.
“A website or portal to host the 2021 national standardised test results for parents of the students who participated in the test is currently under development. When completed parents can print their ward’s results online,” he stated.
As part of the central government’s effort to curb cases of examination malpractice, Mr Osei Yaw noted the management of the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) this year will serialize the examination question papers.
“There was no case of question leakage during the conduct of the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination because the Examinations Council serialized the question papers, we are doing the same this year,” Adutwum added.
The national examination to improve learning outcomes and reduce learning poverty was conducted on Friday, December 17, 2021, by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for only public basic four students in Ghana.
A total of 561,595 primary four students from 15,911 government primary schools participated in the 2021 edition of the Ghana standardised test at 2,609 examination centres. An average of 200 pupils sat for the examination per centre.
