Education Minister gets new name after being enstooled as Chief
The Minister in Charge of Education and Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum after being installed as Tepa development chief (Nkosoɔhene) has been given Nana Yaw Adutwum I as his stool name.
The Paramount Chief of Tepa, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I who made the pronouncement through an interpreter said the chieftaincy title on the Yaw Adutwum follows the role he has played in the country’s education sector.

Thank you for motivating and encouraging us with your actions and words over the years. May you continue to inspire us for many years to come. We are indeed proud of you,” a citation to the Minister for Education stated.
Reacting to his new position, Dr Adutuwm said he was proud to be installed as a chief in the area and assured of playing any role possible to spearhead development in the area and make Tepa a module for the whole of Ghana.
“You talked about Tepa Senior High School. The school has always been on my mind and it is on my priority list. After being installed as chief here, that means that I will give it double attention. I will do whatever I can to ensure the development of Tepa,” the Education Minister said.
After serving as deputy Minister for Education from 2017 to 2020 in President Akufo-Addo’s first term of office, the new Tepa Nkosoɔhene was appointed as Minister for Education in 2021 taking over from Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
From Jachie in Greater Kumasi, Dr Yaw Adutwum is an old student of the Kumasi High School (KUMACA) in Ashanti Region-Ghana, where he had his Advanced level education certificate.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament obtained a bachelor’s degree in Land Economy (Business Administration with a major in Real Estate) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He also holds a master’s degree in Education Management from the University of La Verne and a PhD in Educational Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Southern California.
