GES appoints H Katumi new Northern Regional Education Director

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has appointed Hajia Katumi Natogmah Attah as the new Northern Regional Director of Education. Hajia is the first-ever female Regional Director of Education to hail from the Northern Region.
In a social media post sighted by AcademicWeek, the Service said that before Katumi Natogmah’s appointment as the substantive Northern Regional Director of Education, she served as Savannah Regional Director of Education.

“She has risen through the ranks of the Ghana Education Service due to her sheer determination and respect for the core values and principles of the Service,” the management of GES under the auspices of the Ministry of Education said.
Hajia holds MSc. Health Service Planning and Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Bachelor of Education, and Diploma in Home Economics and Arts Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
She comes with a fresh perspective and energy to create a formidable foundation for developing Education in the Northern Region.
As a member of the Nanung Kingdom, Dokpam Naa Natogmah Attah, the late father of the newly appointed Northern Regional Director of Education served as the deputy defence minister during the Nkrumah administration.
