WAEC extends 2023 May/June G/ABCE registration deadline again

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) after it said the 2023 Advance Business Certificate Examinations (G/ABCE) registration deadline will end May 6, 2023, says it has extended the registration for the examination.
Earlier slated to end on Thursday, May 6, 2023, the management of the Council in a post sighted by AcademicWeek said the (G/ABCE) registration will now be closed on May 31, 2023, without further extension of the deadline.
“The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform the public that the registration period for the Advance Business Certificate Examinations (G/ABCE) 2023 has been extended to May 31, 2023,” WAEC said in a blog post.
Eligibility for GBCE
The General Business Certificate Examination is available to both school and private candidates, i.e. candidates attending schools that prepare them for the examination and candidates who study privately towards the examination.
Registration
The entry period is December to February and it lasts for three months. School authorities are expected to register their candidates and upload their entry data online.

Certificate
The General Business Certificate is awarded to a candidate who obtains at least a pass in a subject offered in the examination. The Group Certificate is awarded to a candidate who obtains passes in all the relevant subjects at one sitting.
A candidate who is unable to satisfy the criterion for the award of a Group Certificate is awarded a certificate for each of the subjects passed.
Eligibility for ABCE
The Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) is available to School Candidates as well as candidates who study privately towards the examination.
Candidates who have obtained passes in the relevant subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level/SSSCE/WASSCE/General Business Certificate/Royal Society of Arts Stage II/London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stage II Level may be considered eligible candidates for the examination.

Condition for the award of Diploma
A candidate who passes all three compulsory and two optional subjects in two sittings within a maximum period of two calendar years from the date of the first registration will be awarded a DIPLOMA certificate.
A candidate who is unable to obtain a pass in all the Subjects within the stipulated period of two years from the date of the first registration will be issued single.
