WAEC gives tips to pass 2023/2024 BECE and WASSCE for School
The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) ahead of the conduct of the 2023 BECE and WASSCE for School has outlined some tips to help candidates to excel in the national and international examinations.
Slated for August this year, the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School and Private Candidates will be conducted from August 7, 2023, to August 11, 2023, at various examination centres across the country.

The 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School according to the timetable for the national examination (Ghana version) will be administered from July 31, 2023, to September 26, 2033.
Tips to pass 2023 BECE and WASSCE for School
1. Make sure you have been correctly entered for the examination i.e. registered for the right subjects, check for correct spelling/arrangement of names etc.
2. Revise using notes from your teachers, textbooks, past question papers, Chief Examiners’ Reports etc
3. Get to the examination centre early at least 30 minutes before the start of the paper. In the examination hall, make sure you read and understand all instructions before you start work.
4. Write your full name and index number in ink in the spaces provided on your question paper and answer booklet.
5. Use a 2B pencil only to shade your answers for the objective.
6. Read through all questions carefully and make sure you understand the demands of each question before selecting the ones you wish to answer.
7. In determining the requirements of a question, take note of keywords such as – When, State, Describe, Calculate, Compare, Contrast, Define, Discuss, Identify, Illustrate, and Summarise.
8. Write fast and make sure that your handwriting is clear and legible.
