The last time i attended NEW was in 2019, when then-Minister Napo prevented me from reading my speech because I had publicly criticised his policy. Since then, the political culture did not make me a welcome stakeholder at NEW.
NEW 2023 focused on STEM & TVET, providing insights into progress made by MoE & ESIs in transforming the governance & delivery of TVET & STEM through enhancing access and improving quality. A whole lot is being done.
Exhibition booths were mounted by students and institutions. The results exhibited confirm the huge investments made in upgrading infrastructure, infusing state-of-the-art technologies into TVET and STEM facilitation & learning. Our TVET & STEM teachers are doing a pretty good job.
My favorite agencies were CTVET & TVET Service. CTET has achieved a lot, including operationalizing RPL. I was particularly thrilled by the delivery of the deputy CTVET boss. First time seeing or hearing of him. Some Mr. Antwi guy…..he really knows his onions..solid guy!
I see very good progress, some strategy gaps and opportunities for policy reinforcements. A comprehensive but critical review of all progress reports will be published by Eduwatch later in the year.”
