Islamic SHS examination postponed amid June 13 violent
The conduct of the Islamic SHS examination scheduled to commence Tuesday, June 14, 2022, has been postponed shortly after the Deputy Minister for Education, John Ntim Fordjour visited the school, a source told AcademicWeek.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the insider said the postponement of the Abrepo-based public Senior High School internal examination is a result of the shooting incident which occurred Monday on the school campus.

In a discussion with AcademicWeek.com, the source said the suspension of the term examination is expected to permit the Urban Roads Department to construct the speed ramps on the busy road in front of the mixed school.
He said the management of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) as part of measures to slow speeding vehicles on the highway today striped a rope in front of the Muslim school. The move according to him is a temporary solution.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has said the majority of the students who were injured after the police unleashed live bullets and tear gas on them are responding to treatment and will be discharged at the appropriate time.
In a press release sighted by AcademicWeek, the Education Ministry said approximately 38 students as a result of the unfortunate happening got injured resulting in the halt of academic activities on the Senior High School campus.
“22 out of the 38 students have been discharged as of yesterday June 13, 2022, and have joined their colleagues on campus,” the statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng stated.
Deputy Minister of Education, Reverend Ntim Fordjour speaking to journalists said representatives from the Ministry will engage the management of the Islamic school on the way forward to ensure students’ demands are fulfilled.
