MoE announces contact to report STEM SHSs selection issue

The Ministry of Education (MoE) says students who may encounter a problem in the selection of the STEM SHS (Senior High Schools) at the STEM school selection and placement portal are to contact 0556541525 for immediate support.
In a related development, the Education Ministry has redesigned the Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) portal (https://stem-ssp.com.gh) from a complex user interface to a user-friendly module.
The new design comes after a parent of a 2022 BECE graduate registered her displeasure over the complicated user interface of the portal to the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng in an interview.
Checks on the portal by AcademicWeek indicate, the Ministry has replaced a feature which required a BECE for School students to enter their email or phone number and password with an Index number and Date of birth.
The new changes mean students who wish to select Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Senior High Schools at the stem-ssp.com.gh will only enter their Index number and Date of birth to be login to the dashboard.
How to select STEM Senior High Schools
1. Visit https://stem-ssp.com.gh
2. Click on ‘Start Selection’ on the homepage of the portal
3. Enter your Index number and Date of birth
4. Click choose schools and select 2 STEM schools of your choice

The Ministry of Education (MoE), has said prospective students’ selection of the 21st-century government STEM Senior High Schools at the STEM schools selection placement portal will take precedence over their initial school selection.
In a statement shared with AcademicWeek, the Ministry in charge of Education said the STEM placement portal gives access to the list of new STEM Senior High Schools (SHSs) included in the 2023 school selection and placement process.
