NSS announces ‘new’ strategy for 2023/24 NSS personnel posting

The management of the Ghana National Service Scheme (NSS) as part of an effort to promote private-institution businesses in the country says this year’s NSS personnel posting or deployment will be private-sector driven.
In a release shared with AcademicWeek inviting user agencies to submit a request for service personnel, the Scheme said it has commenced processing prospective national service personnel for deployment for the 2023/2024 service year.
“This year’s deployment is private sector driven, and so the Scheme intends to deploy more numbers of service personnel to the private sector,” the management of NSS said in the statement dated Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
Following service personnel processing, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has encouraged all private institutions in the country to submit more requests for service personnel to meet their growing manpower demands.
“Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), banks, financial and educational institutions, hospitals, security agencies and all those interested in hosting national service personnel in the 2023/2024 service year are also encouraged to put in formal requests to the Secretariat,” it added.
The request for national service personnel for the 2023/2024 service year, the Ghana Service Scheme said must be submitted on official letterheads with official addresses, emails, phone numbers and locations of the Organizations.
“User agencies are to indicate the number of national service personnel required and should specify the desired academic/professional qualifications
Agencies with special needs are advised to contact the National Service Secretariat for discussion. All requests must reach the National Service Secretariat before Friday, August 11, 2023,” the NSS management indicated in the release.
