NTC releases 2023 ‘1st’ teacher licensure exam re-sit timetable

According to the 2023 teacher licensure exam re-sit timetable, the first phase of the conduct of the examination for candidates who had sat for the GTLE but could not pass will commence on May 4, 2023, and end on May 5, 2023

The management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) in a blog post sighted by AcademicWeek said the re-sit GTLE candidates on May 4, 2023 will sit for Literacy and Essential professional skills and Numeracy on May 5, 2023.

“Due to the GTLE reforms implemented this year, the Council has given three chances to candidates who are associated with the traditional GTLE (Essential Professional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy) to redeem themselves,” NTC said.

As it commences registration for the resit, the Teaching Council says applicants can purchase a Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) resit voucher from any branch of the Prudential Bank nationwide to start the registration.

Alternatively, it said applicants can also dial the shortcode *772*51# to use Mobile Money to purchase the licensure examination voucher to participate in the conduct of the (March 2023) national examination for teachers.”

How to register for 2023 teacher licensure exam re-sit

1. Visit the GTLE resit registration portal

2. Enter examination ID

3. Re-enter the examination ID to confirm its correct

4. Select your Disability status

5. Enter your Serial number

6. Enter your Pin

7. Click on the Submit button.

The purpose of the licensing examination is to enable qualified teachers to acquire a professional licence and prepare teachers to meet the demands of the National Teachers’ Standards of possessing the minimum knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools.
