President Akufo-Addo to be 2023 NSMQ grand finale special guest

Slated for Monday, October 30, 2023, the producer of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ), Primetime Limited has invited President Akufo-Addo as the special guest of honour for the grand finale of the competition.
“His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be our Special Guest at the NSMQ 2023 grand finale on Monday, 30th October 2023,” the organizer of the Science and Maths quiz said in a post sighted by AcademicWeek.com.

The final showdown of the 2023 edition of NSMQ will take off at the National Theater in Accra at 2 p.m. The initial stages of the contest were held in Kumasi at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Kumasi-based Opoku Ware School and Accra-based Senior High Schools Achimotal School and Presbyterian Boys Senior High School are the qualified schools to compete in this year’s National Science and Math Quiz (NSMQ) final.
Meanwhile, Kumasi-based Prempeh College after a petition for the result of the semi-final stage to be reviewed was ignored by Primetime Limited has filed a court injunction to halt the grand finale of the 30th edition of the quiz.
Their injunction comes after Prempeh in a protest statement shared with AcademicWeek.com called on the producer of the Science and Maths competition, Primetime Limited to overturn the semi-final stage NSMQ result in their favour.
The All Boys School in a letter to the NSMQ producer, Primetime Limited and Ghana Education Service expressed their dissatisfaction with the results of the contest involving Pope Johns Senior High School and Opoku Ware School.
The College argue that the riddle answer given by their team “principle of superposition,” was considered equivalent to the response provided by the Physics consultant, “principle of (linear) superposition, saying both phrases refer to the same principle and are commonly accepted in higher physics literature.
The five-time champion of the competition for Senior High Schools injunction application against Primetime Limited, organiser of the popular National Science and Math Quiz (NSMQ) is set to be heard on November 2, 2023.
The 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz is produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service in partnership with Goil PLC and supported by A.T., Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, and Pepsodent.
