Primetime invites 9 schools to join 2022 NSMQ ‘on merit’

Producer for the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ), Primetime has invited 9 schools (Senior High Schools) who lost with 40 and above points in their Regional qualifiers to join the 2022 edition of the competition.
Announcing the new addition in a post sighted by AcademicWeek, it said “A total of nine schools have been invited to join the National Championship, by virtue of losing their Regional Qualifiers with impressive scores.”
The invited 9 schools to compete in the 2022 academic year Science and Mathematics competition slated to be launched on Monday, October 3, 2022, are;
1. Achimota School
2. Mankraso SHS
3. Ofori Panin SHS
4. Osei Kyeretwie SHS
5. T.I AMASS, Kumasi
6. SDA SHS, Bewkai
7. St. Monca’s SHS
8. Tema Sec. School
9. Winneba SHS
The 2022 edition of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) according to the organizer of the contest will be launched on October 3, 2022, along with the balloting of contents for the preliminary stage.
The launch and balloting for the 2022 Science and Maths Quiz competition scheduled to kick off at 3 pm on October 3, 2022, will take place at the Ghana National Association of Graduate Teachers (GNAT) new conference hall, Accra.
After the balloting process, the producer of the NSMQ says the preliminary stage of the national quiz completion will commence from October 10 to 13, 2022 and October 15 to 18, 2022 for the One-eight stage.
Quarterfinals it has said will begin from October 19 to 21, 2022 with semifinals on October 23, 2022. The grand finale of the National Science and Mathematics contest Primetime said will be held on October 26, 2022.
Started in 1993 and produced by Primetime Limited, the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is an annual science and mathematics content-based national-level quiz competition for Senior High Schools across the country.
The quiz is to promote the study of science and mathematics and help students develop quick thinking and a probing and scientific mind about the everyday world around them while fostering healthy academic rivalry among SHSs.
The popular National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) is the longest-running and most watched educational programme on Ghanaian television. It was adjudged the CIMG TV Programme of the Year 2017.
