552,276 School and 1,132 Private students to sit 2022 BECE

A total number of 552,276 final-year Junior High School students and 1,132 private students from October 17, 2022, to Friday, October 21, 2022, will sit for the 2022 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Amid the low entries of the BECE for Private students registration, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said two groups of BECE candidates (School and Private) will take the examination at the same period for the first time.

For BECE School, 552,276 candidates representing 276,988 males and 275,288 from 18,501 Junior High Schools will participate in the national examination to be conducted at 2,023 centres throughout the country
Regarding BECE Private, a total of 1,132 prospective candidates comprising 634 males and 498 females registered for the private examination. The examination will be taken at 15 selected centres, mainly in the regional capitals.
With 18,501 participating schools, the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) has tasked some 2,023 supervisors, 1,816 Assistant supervisors and 19,384 invigilators to oversee the administration of the BECE School at 2,023 centres,
To be administered at 15 centres, the West African Examinations Council has tasked 15 supervisors, 1 Assistant supervisor and 43 43 invigilators to ensure the successful conduct of the 2022 BECE for Private Candidates.
In a blog post sighted by AcademicWeek, the management of the Examinations Council appropriate measures have been put in place to safeguard test security and ensure that the examination is conducted successfully.
All examination officials including supervisors, invigilators and distributors have been urged to comply with the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination and refrain from being facilitators of malpractice.
WAEC 2022 BECE timetable (School & Private)

Starting on Monday, October 17, 2022, with Social Studies and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), the 2022 edition of the BECE will end on Friday, October 21, 2022, with French (Essay & Objective).
