Education Minister congratulates 1st KNUST female SRC president

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has congratulated Yvonne Osei Adobea for her appointment as the first female Student Representative Council (SRC) President of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Yvonne Osei Adobea is the first female student of the Kumasi-based Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to aspire for SRC President at level 200 and ended second with over 2,000 votes.

She is the first female student of KNUST to aspire for SRC President twice with a male student vicing her at any time. Adobea has also become the first female student of KNUST to win the KNUST Presidential position with over 8200 votes.

Elected its first female Student Representative Council President after 71 years. Osei Yvonne Adobea is an old student of Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ Senior High School in Kumasi. She was the Girls’ Prefect for the 2018/2019 academic year.
