GES appoints Mabel Judith Micah as new S/R Education Director

The Ghana Education Service has appointed Mabel Judith Micah as the new Savannah Regional Director of Education. Mrs Judith has become the third GES staff to be appointed as Regional Education Director this academic year.

Prior to her appointment, the newly appointed Regional Director of Education was the Municipal Director of Education, Effutu-Winneba, in the Central Region. She has thirty-three (33) years of experience in the field of education.

Profile

She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Adult Education from the University of Ghana, Legon (2010) and a B.ED in Agriculture Education from the University of Education, Winneba (Mampong Ashanti).

Currently, she is on Mphil Programme in Educational Administration & Management from the University of Education, Winneba.

Mabel Micah has been in the profession since September 1, 1990, and had risen through the ranks from Assistant Superintendent to her current position, Director I.

She was once a Substantive Girls Education Officer at La Nkwantanang, Madina Education Office and was later appointed as a Substantive Administrative and Finance Officer at the same Education Office in the Greater Accra Region.

Mrs Judith was also one time the substantive Headmistress of Tema Manhean Senior High Technical School, Tema in the Greater Accra Region

By dint of hard work and devotion to duty, she was appointed the substantive District Director of Education for Jaman North, Sampa in Bono Region where she later acted as the Headmistress of Sumaman Senior High School, pending the appointment of a substantive Headmaster/Headmistress.

In July 2020, she was reposted to Effutu Municipal Education Directorate as the substantive Director of Education in Winneba. From March – July 2021, she was the Acting District Director of Education of Gomoa West District Education Directorate, Apam, when the then-District Director compulsory retired and was waiting for the appointment of a new director.

She is honest, very passionate about everything she does, a serious-minded individual and ever ready to learn. She is positive, productive, hardworking, trustworthy and willing to accept new and challenging roles

Mrs Mabel enjoys being part of a successful and productive team and thrives in highly pressurized and challenging working environments, results-oriented; has the spirit of teamwork, the ability to work efficiently and effectively.

An ambitious, self-motivated individual, ever ready to share her knowledge and experience with others, desirous for continuous professional development. 

The Savannah Regional Education Director is very transparent and always insists on accountability in the delivery of duty. She is open to all as much as her services are needed.

She has attended several conferences, workshops and seminars both local and International. She serves on many committees both local and Regional levels. She was the current Vice Chairperson of Central Region Basic School Sports Association.
