WAEC opens 2022/23 private BECE school selection portal

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has opened the BECE school selection portal for private students who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination to choose their preferred second-cycle school for placement.
Slated to start Monday, November 14, 2022, the Examinations Council says the school selection exercise by BECE for Private students will end on Monday, November 28, 2022, with no further extension of the school selection deadline.
An official of the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) in a discussion with AcademicWeek.com said prospective students are to only visit https://www.waecinternetsolution.org/ to commence and complete the school selection.
“As earlier communicated by the Ghana Education Service (GES), Private BECE students are to log onto the portal https://www.waecinternetsolution.org/ with their Index number and password to select their schools,” he stated.
At the homepage of the BECE school selection portal, the staff of the West African Examinations Council said students are to enter their Index number as Login ID and an 8-digit password to be navigated to the portal’s dashboard.
In a related development, the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has urged parents of students who sat for the 2022 edition of the BECE for School to sign the school selection register before November 18, 2022.
The nationwide selection of public second-cycle schools which commenced on Monday, October 31, 2022, for students who participated in the 2022 BECE will end on Friday, November 18, 2022, with no further extension of the deadline.
The management of the West African Examinations Council administered the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School and Private Candidates, 2022 from Monday, October 17, 2022, to October 21, 2022.
Due to low entries of the Private BECE registration, two groups of BECE candidates (School and Private), for the first time, sat for the national examination for final year Junior High School students at the same period.
A total number of 552,276 candidates representing 276,988 males and 275,288 females from 18,501 Junior High Schools partook in the 32nd edition of the BECE for School Candidates at 2,023 centres throughout the country.
