WAEC to issue Attestation of Result for misplaced exam certificate

The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says individuals who sat for any of its private or school examinations and have had his/her certificate misplaced or damaged can apply for an Attestation of Result.
In a social media post sighted by AcademicWeek, the organization said the Attestation of Results is available for GCE A’ Level, GCE O’ Level, SSCE, ABCE, GBCE, BECE Private, BECE School, WASSCE Private and WASSCE School.
An official of the not-for-profit institution explaining the need for the Results Attestation to AcademicWeek’s Editorial Staff said it has become necessary since the West African Examinations Council does not issue duplicate certificates.
“WAEC now issues an Attestation of Results for certificates which have been misplaced or damaged. The attestation is as valid as the certificate. Users who wish could confirm the details on the document with the Council,” he noted.
The WAEC official added that “Attestation of Results are issued to individual candidates or persons for their possession. The Attestation must be collected personally by applicants from the offices of the Council in Accra or the regions.”
