99% of 2022 BECE results released online are accurate – WAEC

Following claims that the 2022 BECE results released online are fake, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says 99 per cent of the national examination results at https://eresults.waecgh.org are authentic and genuine.

Speaking in an interview monitored by AcademicWeek, Victor Brew, Head Legal, WAEC said the 2022 BECE for School and Private Candidates results will not be changed as widely circulated on various social media platforms.

“99 per cent of the BECE results are fine, if there is any error we are quick to see and correct it. the West African Examinations Council will not deliver results that are not authentic,” the non-profit-making organization lawyer said.

Asked if students not satisfied with their Basic Education Certificate Examination results can appeal for a remark, the WAEC official replied yes adding that “there is a system for people to write to us for review of the examination script.”

How to check 2022 BECE School and Private results

1. Visit the https://eresults.waecgh.org

2. Enter your 2022 BECE Index Number.

3. Re-enter the Index Number to confirm its correct

4. Select Examination type (BECE)

5. Enter Examination year (2022)

6. Enter the Serial Number on the result checking voucher

7. Enter the PIN on the result checking voucher

8. Tick the ‘I am not a robot’ box and

9. Click on Submit and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several minutes but it’s worth the wait.

A total of 552,288 candidates made up of 276,999 males and 275,289 females sat for the school examination. Out of the total number of candidates who participated in the national examination, 4,309 candidates were absent.

The Examinations Council amid the BECE results release has cautioned all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee. Candidates are to note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated.
