Education Minister addresses UN Education Summit in US
Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum as part of efforts to raise the flag of Education in Ghana high September 17, 2022, spoke at the United Nations Transforming Education Summit held in the United States of America.
In his address on behalf of President Akufo-Addo, Yaw told participants of the Summit effective measures have been put in place to ensure the education system equips Ghanaian students with skills for socio-economic transformation.

At the Education Summit dubbed “Rewiring education for people and planet Report,” Dr Adutwum also pointed out the need for a new way of working that reimagines education in a win-win partnership with the entire 2030 Agenda.
Speaking further the Minister in charge of Education added, “no country can attain sustainable economic growth where entrenched poverty and Inequalities in learning and skills undermine human capital.”
In a related development, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum following his contribution and plans for the country’s education sector has said he is among the most fortunate Ministers for Education in the world.
The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe constituency made the comment speaking at the Minister’s Press briefing on the topic “President Akufo-Addo’s education agenda: four years and beyond” held at Accra on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
“I am lucky to find myself in this space, I am one of the luckiest Education Ministers in the world and that is why I can’t stop teaching when I visit any school,” the teaching minister told the media at the press briefing.
The lawmaker furthered that “teaching has become of me and I am happy the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gave me this opportunity to be the Minister responsible for Education.”
Commending teachers, students and stakeholders for their support, dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions to shaping the future of Ghana, he said the country will witness innovations in the education sector.
