GES releases 2022/23 BECE computerised school placement

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the computerised school placement of students who sat for the 2022 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) administered by the West African Examinations Council.
The management of the Service has urged members of the general public, particularly 2022 BECE graduates to only check their second cycle school placement only at the school placement portal https://cssps.gov.gh.
A total of 552,288 candidates made up of 276,999 males and 275,289 females who sat for the national examination (BECE) as the school placements are released are expected to be placed into various public Senior High/Technical schools.
Giving statistics of the released school placement, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah said out of the 547,329 who sat for the national examination, 538,399 qualified for school placement.
“A total of 37,278 students representing 69.24% have been automatically placed in one of their school choices while some over 1,000 who could not be matched with any of their selected choices are to do self-placement,” he said.
How to check your 2023 school placement at cssps.gov.gh
1. Visit the school placement portal
2. Click on check placement
3. Enter your Index number
4. Enter your 10 digit E-voucher pin and
5. Enter your 5 digit pin code
6. Click on proceed and wait a few minutes for the next window to display your school placement.
How to do 2023 school self-placement at CSSPS
1. Visit the computer school placement portal
2. Then select the check placement module on the left-hand side
3. Enter your BECE Index Number (eg. 100000000022) and
4. Enter your 10 digit E-voucher pin and
5. Enter your 5 digit pin code
6. Click on Proceed to be redirected to the self-placement module
When redirected successfully to the Self-placement module, you will be provided with a selection of schools to pick from based on the aggregate or grade you had in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
7. Choose carefully your desired second cycle school
8. Choose your residential preference (Day/Boarding).
9. Select your programme of choice
10. After doing all the necessary checks, confirm and print. Remember that once you have completed the selection process it can not be undone or changed.
