NSS releases 2022/23 national service personnel postings

The management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has released the 115,240 national service personnel postings for the 2022/2023 academic year, the Deputy Director of the National Service Scheme, Gifty Oware-Aboagye has said.
“They are to visit any regional office of the Service with a copy of enrolment forms, Students ID, any national ID and a soft copy of their passport picture saved with their NSS number as a file name to clear them for postings,” she stated.
Prospective personnel according to her are to log on to the Scheme’s website https://nss.gov.gh to confirm the specifics of their placements before visiting their respective user agencies to endorse their letters of appointment.
“The printing of appointment letters by 2022/2023 service personnel and endorsement by respective user agencies can only be done from Monday, October 17, 2022
Postings validation and registration will begin on October 24 and continue till December 14, 2022. Management urges graduates posted and accepted by user agencies to begin national service on Monday, November 1, 2022,” she noted.
To minimize excessive crowds at the registration centres, the NSS official has urged all posted national service personnel to schedule an appointment online and visit the centres on the scheduled date and time for validation.
The release of the 2022/2023 academic year postings comes after the National Service Scheme (NSS) mid this year cautioned tertiary institutions’ final-year graduates to be wary of an ongoing posting scam.
In a press release copied to AcademicWeek, NSS said some unscrupulous individuals have created WhatsApp and Facebook groups parading as officials of the Scheme to demand an amount from personnel yet to be posted.
“The National Service Scheme will under no circumstance request prospective personnel to pay a fee to check their places of posting,” It stated adding that the attempt is to swindle unsuspecting national service personnel.
“The management wishes to reiterate that the Ghana National Service Scheme does not operate WhatsApp or Telegram groups with moderators parading as agents of the National Service Scheme (NSS)
For the record, the management of NSS has not done posting for the 2022/2023 national service personnel. Prospective personnel should wait for an official release before they go to check their place of posting,” NSS noted.
In a bid to curb the posting scam syndicate, the Ghana Service says it has collaborated with various security agencies to track the culprits and moderators behind the rogue social media groups to face the full rigours of the law.
